Youth Services
Mission Statement
The primary function of Coffee County Youth Services is to provide probation supervision services to juveniles who are ordered on Court Probation through Coffee County Juvenile Court. Our purpose is to ensure that children under Juvenile Court jurisdiction comply with all orders of the Court. We also make referrals in the community for clients and their families, including mental health counseling, alcohol and drug treatment, community service assignments, etc. Representatives of Coffee County Youth Services serve on the local Truancy Councils, Foster Care Review Board, Juvenile Justice Review Board, and the Child Fatality Review Team. We work hand in hand with the Juvenile Court Judge, local school systems, and local law enforcement agencies in Coffee County in matters regarding both unruly and delinquent children.
Clarification of our Services
Our office is commonly mistaken with the Department of Children’s Services. We do not provide the same services as the Department of Children’s Services or DCS Youth Services does not make child abuse investigations or remove children from their parent’s custody for abuse and neglect allegations. We also do not place children in foster homes.
